Countertop Mixology: Valentine’s Edition

Whether you don’t typically do a whole lot when it comes to Valentine’s Day, or celebrate your love in an extravagant way, it’s hard to turn down a great cocktail.

Well, we’ve got you covered. The Love Potion is one part blackberry syrup, one part sparkling wine, with a little bit of love sprinkled in for good measure. And love is in the air with this yummy Red Valentine cocktail which is both tart and sweet and a delightful treat. We hope you enjoy!

1. Love potionLove Potion

Ingredients:

FOR THE BLACKBERRY SYRUP

1/3 cup blackberries, plus 8 more for garnish

1/3 cup water

1/3 cup sugar

FOR THE COCKTAIL

1 bottle of prosecco or champagne

FOR THE GARNISH

4 sprigs of thyme

Directions:

1. In a small saucepan, bring the blackberries, water, and sugar to a boil. Turn to low and let simmer for 10 minutes. Strain blackberries and let the syrup cool.

2. Add 2 tbsp. of syrup to the bottom of each glass. Top with champagne and add in a sprig of thyme and 2 blackberries!

Ingredients:

1.5 ounce of Patron silver tequila

1-ounce Organic brand lemonade

splash of Rose’s Red grenadine syrup

red sugar for rim

lemon wedge

ice

Directions:

Pour sugar into a shallow plate or bowl. Wet the rim of the glass with the lemon wedge. Dip the glass into the sugar. Fill glass with ice. Combine tequila, lemonade, and grenadine into a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake for 45 seconds. Strain into the prepared sugar rimmed glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge. Enjoy with your sweetheart!
